Plants flowering in Quinta de S. Francisco
Although plants in Quinta de S. Francisco keep flowering throughout the year, it´s no surprise that the major flowering period is Spring. In most plants, the flowering process starts with the decrease in the duration of the night period, while for others this process is activated by the cumulative increase of the temperatures associated with this season. In Quinta de S. Francisco there are several plant species blossoming at this time. Among these, many Eucalypts species are worth mentioning, such as silver peppermint (E. tenuiramis), Risdon peppermint (E. risdonii), red box (E. polyanthemos), honey box (E. melliodora), swamp mahogany (E. robusta) and also the lemon-scented gum (Corymbia citriodora).
